the 5.2 has got a full intake and throttle body, full exhaust, and a cam. im pretty sure it has a lower gear too. at 65 mph im runnin just over 2 grand. what kind of gears come stock and what do you guys think it has now?
also, how much horsepower do you guys think im gettin? how much dose it have stock?
last but DEFFINATLY not least im havin a problem with the tranny. it has a shift kit in it but when i floor it, it will only rev out to3500 rpm. if i manualy shift it ill shift it at 5500 and its perfect. whats wrong!!!???

Message: The fuel sending units go out fairly easy. You can replace it by dropping the tank or removing the bed. When I did it, i removed the bed. the sending unit is attached to the pump.
how many miles? You may want to consider replacing the pump and getting a new sending unit with it vs just spending the time and little money on a new sending unit. When I replaced it in my old 95 the sending unit was $50 and pump complet with sending unit was $180. I wound up going the way of the sending unit and it not be the unit but the pump itself. So I spent $50 for a special order part I could not return.

i meant 210+hp at the wheels, remember its not how much power its how it is laid out across the powerband.

Message: when i had the shift kit installed the truck nolonger shifted out of first at 3500rpm now it goes to 4000rpm or doesn't shift so i have to take my foot out of the gas alittle so the trans gets a hint i want it to shift and not run the motor in to the rev limiter. it shifts fine through the rest of the gears.
i will have to call my friends dad that owna the trans shop to see if it was a cable he adjusted
sounds like you have a nice dakota...?
how much did you get it for?

Message: yeah mines the same. it has a shift kit and it shifts at4g in first but anything eles its 3500 max. but i dosent rev it out. ever. it also dosent have a rev limiter. my buddy had an old school dak w/ a 318 and he told me he started to loose power at about 5800 rpm. so when he raced we would shift at 5500. i got mine to 6 b4 on accident "shifted to first at 40" and it was really pullin like a mofo lol. so the cam makes a big differenc top end.
but i got it for 6300 out the door at a dealer ship. few things i dont like but ya know its used.
it has neon green valve covers. on a blue truck WTF who dose that!! he also line x the bed and tops of the bumpers blue and now they faded to aqua! so ya know lil things like that HAVE to go.

Message: my friends not around at the moment and i'm heading out on a cruise so it would take about two weeks before i could give you answer. sorry.
you can try going down to a well trusted trans shop and see what they say it is and what it would take to fix it.
you got an awesome deal on that truck!
i paid $200 more and mine had way more miles on it & was stock!
