Subject: More A/C Trouble IP: Logged
Message: I had my a/c filled w/ R134a & yellow dye a week ago. Worked fine for a few days - now the a/c is short cycling and not cooling. I'm assuming there's a leak, but I can't find signs of the yellow dye anywhere. There's also a nasty mold smell coming from the vents when I first turn on the a/c. Does anyone know where to start troubleshooting to find this leak? All I notice is the normal condensation drip from underneath. Appreciate any help on this - I don't want to spend another couple hundred bucks if I can avoid it. Thanks.

Message: Yeah, I've tried the blacklight, but can't trace the source of the leak. Must be hidden.

Message: Sounds like the leak is in your evaporator if you can't find it in the engine compartment. That sucks!!!!

Message: Having the same trouble. Had it checked today and they told me the compressor clutch is failing. It is not staying engaged when the electrical signal is sent to it.
