Message: I don't know if you'res is set up the same as mine, but I have a '98 dakota 4x4 in which the dash light didn't work. I had to replace the switch on the top of the transfer case. The four wheel drive worked just fine, but I had no dash indicater light.

Message: How did you diagnose the problem? did you take it to the dealership? I have the same problem except i have AWD not 2WD...no lights on the switch, and it will not go into 4Hi or LO. I thought maybe the switch was bad and the price from the shop was $600....FU*k THAT!

Message: I have the exact same truck, and the exact same thing happened to me. I took it in to get fixed. They thought it was the sensor and they changed it and it was not fixed, then they thought it was the wire harnest and changed that out and it still wasnt fixed, in the end the dealership found out that it was a loose connection, so it cost me about $700 after it was all said and done. That was an expensive loose connection.

Message: My dash light went out on my 2000 a few years ago. Doesn't bother me because the 4WD still works fine.

Message: I had the same problem accept my 4x4 wouldn't work either. I took it to the stealership they said the 4x4 wouldn't work cause of a loose conection but the indicator light was just a fuse.
03 4x4 cc auto with some other stuff.
