i think i'd stay with the stock converter until you decide exactly what cam and heads you're going to get. IMO, depending where your cam starts making good power will determine stall speed for your new converter.

Unless you intend to drag race, I wouldn't touch the converter. I would also get a cam that is more for the low/mid range power band than something made for high rpm's. Just my opinion, no flames please!

I'm with these guys - maybe you feel like you need a little more stall because of the M1 and 1.7's; but I would think more about matching stall to cam choice and gearing if you change that later.
