thats a decession you have to make!

not to rag on you,but alittle common sense goes a long way

it,s your money and how you spend it is all up to you,if you think its worth it for the better
quarter mile times,

then jump ship, then if you find out there no fast
or it,s your racing, you have no one to blame but yourself

just my thought, have a great day

as vern said "that's a decision you have to make!"

IMO, you need to figure out what you want out of the vehicle. a pure 1/4 mile machine, g-machine, etc......
if you decide to get rid of the r/t take your time finding something that will suit your needs.

ANd remember, them late model Camero/Firebird engines have to be dropped from the BOTTOM of the car!!!

That was the LT1 in my friend's Camero. It's now a 383 Stroker. It's not finished but a few trips around the block we realized he added a good 100HP or something. You can do 15 MPH and stomp it (auto tranny) and it will tach out spinning the tires. Now he needs some slicks and other crap...

It's not a fair comparison though. It's a truck vs. a car.

The car would be barely quicker stock and all. But you can't haul anything in it :P

Well the LS1 is going to have more potential but you will probally spend more money doing it. A stock LS1 camaro or T/A can easily run low 13's stock with a good driver. Your probally gonna spend 12-20K on the car depending on the year. Add a High lift cam, Nitrous, Slicks, and a Stall and your in the 11's. But 11's in a LS1 is nothing too look at. You see a handfull of them each time at the track.

Now on the other hand your R/T still has a great amount of potential. You already have the free flowing parts..All you need is a good set of heads..and a power adder of your choice and your in the 12's easily. All of this and you still will have a daily driver on your hands. Plus when you go to the track your likely to be the only one with your setup.

This would be a little different for an R/T..but when im out driving around I can do a mile long smokey and not one cop would even notice my truck. When they see the chipping paint, and busted grill and tailgate...they dont even notice the blower whine and the extremely loud and ilegal exhaust.

Last month when I went to the track there were probally 20-30 Sti's and Evo's. Not one person even laid an eye on those. They would walk right by the AWD wonders and take a look under my hood. Its kinda nice having something different than everybody else. I would like a sports car but no to show off.

Its whats under the hood that counts........
