everyone talks about high miles on the 5.2 or 5.9 because theyve been around for ever. well, what about the 4.7 i know its a newer motor but whos got some miles on it, mines got 137k but i just bought it. whos got higher?

144k to date on a 2001 4.7 5-speed; TLC since she was new. Mobil1 in the engine and LSD rear end. Green antifreeze in the radiator. Bosch Platinum plugs, NAPA greasable ball joints, Edelbrock IAS shocks, SSBC rear discs, R/T rear swaybar and 17x9's, Jeep HO cams, TB mod, K&N homebrew air intake, among other things. Sings the same sweet song every day...

2000 RC 4.7 250,000 miles, purchased in 1999. Starting to use a quart of oil every 2500 miles.

traded in my 02 4.7L Dak w/160,000 miles on it. ran as good as the day I drove it home with 2 miles on the odometer

My 98 long-bed has 500,000 miles on both the engine and automatic transmission.
Much of that success is, I believe, due to using Amsoil.
I'd bet you could too.

Shatto, i do agree w/ you, but this is about the 4.7 and a 98 has a 5.2 OHV in it.
My 2000 4.7 has almost 130k miles and rides better than when it was brand new.
I most say that i have the complete gear box (NV3500) and dif. replaced at 75k miles under extended warranty.
Also have Moog b joints all around, Power slot rotors, IAS shocks, Hotckins anti sway bars w/ urethane bushings front and rear and 2in drop Hotckins front springs and 1in rear.
I always use Mobil 1 oil and filter till 80k miles when i changed all my fluids to AMSOIL.

I've got a 99 Dakota with 346,000 miles on it... No major repairs, tie rods, alt. those sorts of things... Most amazing part, stil running the original clutch..
