Subject: Noise Changing Gears IP: Logged
Message: I hear a very strong noise when I change gears.
It is stronger when I change from Neutral to Reverse, or when I change from Neutral to Drive.
It is a strong "clank". What could be malfunctioning?
I appreciate your help.
Thanks

Message: Sometimes u have a little slop in your tranny and it will cause a clunk as the torque converter catches as you shift into drive or reverse. My Durango does it but not too badly or noisily. You should check the U Joints 1st as they can be going out and cause the noise too.
