Message: Has anyone had any good performance out of the 3715 model Superchip. I tried one, and the only thing I could get it to do was change the tire size to corret the speedo. I tried the performance set up and did not see any changes, even running prem. fuel. The programmer would not change the speed limitee or the RPM limiter. Any one have any good help. I have a 2003 4.7 Quad cab, Stock so far. I am trying to get a little more power out of it.

Message: Don't know what could have happened. It might take a while for the PCM to "learn" the new settings and show the improvement you should get.
Even with the 87 program on my Durango I notice a better drving experience. With the 91 performance program I really feel a difference.
I won't tow without it on my QC - it's that much of a difference.
You may want to call Superchips and see if there are some PCM revisions that their tuner has not shown any gains such as your. Maybe there is something they can do.

Message: Ron,
Day & Night difference when I added mine. SuperChips actually used my truck as a test truck to determine the final coding on the 87 Octane program. I provided them with a 4 year old 100k+ mile truck running 87 octane so they could code their tuners to work better with the older 4.7L engines running the cheaper gas and NOT ping.
With gas prices what they are now, I run mine on that 87 program and I do see the difference from when I am running the stock program. When gas was more affordable, I was running the Performance and the Towing program depending on if I was towing or not and really noticed the difference then. My truck is at 112k miles now and I won't drive it without the tuner on at least the 87 octane program.
I too recomend you call SC and get it checked out.

Message: Ron. What transmission do you have?
Some people with the MANUAL tranny were thinking MAYBE them PCM's already had a better timing advance curve, but who knows.
Those of us with the AUTO noticed a difference in some pep, speed AND rev limiter, AND the occasional BARKING of the tires during shifts!
The 5-45RFE AUTO LIKES the SuperChips.
Go to my website and check out some of my test videos.

Message: When I first got the SC for my 02 QC AWD, I wasn't sure if I was getting much of a gain either. After I bought a G-Tech, I confirmed a .3-.4 tenths better 1/4 time.

Message: And really, .3 to .4 improvement in the 1/4 is probably more than the HO cams give you LOL!

Message: I definitely wish that I had the G-Tech before the HOs went in. I would have liked to be able to quantify what difference they did make.
I do have to say though, I felt the HOs through the butt-dyno, the SC, not so much. So, as usual, your milage may vary.....
