Hi im new to dakota's just wanted to get some input for my truck. My 5.9 is stock and I would like to get about 25-40 HP for cheap as possible. Im looking to get in the mid 14s in the 1/4.

Any advice is apreciated.

Define "cheap as possible". For under $300 you can get a Superchips tuner (from eBay retailers). Superchips claims the 5.9L engine will gain more HP than what you are looking to get.

They have changed their website drastically: I can't find the specs. But the 3715 tuner you need supposedly bumped the HP up by 50 on the 5.9L engine.

What's your left foot doing?

i had no luck with the superchips on my 5.2, it ran .1 faster in the quarter. my friend had it on his r/t and didn't do near enough to justify the price.

i spent $80 on a super 40 flowmaster muffler, made a Cooler air Intake for the truck, for about $40, and drop near a second in the 1/4 & a full second to 60mph. so that should put you in the 14s for around $120.
