Message: If you have the 5.9L, then that mileage is about right. I think most people with the 5.9L get roughly 15mpg on highway at most, so 10-11mpg in city driving sounds about right. 5.9L is a pretty hungry engine.

Message: you need to mention your altitude when giving MPG . I have a 99 4x4 5.2 CC I bought new. I live in Montana at 5,000+ elivation. I get 12 all city and 18.3 to 18.9 freeway, cruise set at 78. Winter drops that to 15-16 . I go to the west coast at least once a year. Portland. I believe elivation there is 200ft. MPG goes up average of 2 MPG across the board not to mention a nice improvement in performance. So nothing said above have much value as it's written. My opinion only.
So many problems .... So little time

Message: I see all these rather high reported gas mileages, and have to wonder: How do they compare to the EPA sticker gas mileage?
I've got a stock 03 QC 4x4 4.7L, I'm light on the gas, but only get 13 city 15 highway--which is what the sticker says. At sea level, pretty much regardless of the season. Running in 4WD during the winter seems to shave about 1 mpg off the city results.

Message: '04 Quad Cab 4x4 SXT w/V8 and 5 speed auto mostly mixed driving Interstate/city/county roads 80 mile round trip daily commute my average is at 17.2.
If you're only getting 10 - 11 mpg there is something not right there unless you're towing thousands of pounds or really heavy on the gas.
Have you done all the typical maintenance? Checked/replaced the air filter, changed the oil AND the oil filter, checked/replaced the fuel filter, PCV, etc?

Message: Average of 20.2 for the last 5950 miles.
On the first 2500 miles, i was at 22.4 mpg, but then, i got tired of obeying speed limits, and went back to normal driving.
My overhead comp. always shows less than when i do the math w/ pen and paper, about 1 to 3%.
I got a 2000 4.7 slt plus, cc, 2wd, 5sp manual, 3.92lsd w/ 127k miles.
It has some mods like K&N FIPK, 2002 HO intake and cams, ported Fastman 68 TB, Gibson headers and single 3in cat back, 180* T stat, no clutch fan and jet chip stage 2.
I know the chip is disliked by many of you and i regret that i bought it, but i`m convinced that it helps w/ gas consumption and also it really gives me a little more of time advance, once the engine will ping w/ any gas other than super.

I got crap MPG. Like 13 or something!!!
But i have got around 18 all highway in the past even with my gears. Must have been the drive through scottsdale that killed my MPG :p

Message: I avg 13.7 for the past 6 months around town.
I rarely get open highway miles, but when i do I get 20+ mpg.
I fill up every 11-12 days like clockwork. (The 2.3 mile commute to work in 30mph streets with lots of stopping doesn't help the MPG numbers at all)
Oh..and I've got a 318 (5.2l) with a few additions ;)

Message: I just took a trip up north, about 1000Km's 1 way and round trip I got 20MPG in my 2005 4.7QC 3.92LSD, K&N intake and Magnaflow exhaust.
Around town ill get around 14MPG, but im less than 5 minutes from work and usually not too easy on the gas since I put this exhaust on, she dosent even have a chance to warm up so I cant complain. Fill'er up every 2 weeks.
