Message: I ahve a 2000 R/T R.C. The best I've ever gotten was 21-22mpg driving the speed limit 80km Canadian eh(50mph),but the 4:56 gear just came in so kiss that good bye. Recently I drove the truck from Detroit to Kalamazoo Mi. 3 hours at 70mph I got aroun 17mpg. Coming home towing a car trailer with an empty shell (1952 Henry J)surprisingly the milage only went to a little better than 15mpg. In this current state the truck runs low 14's. The 4:56's and some tuning to the caltracs ought to get me into the 13's.
Ported throttle body, K&N cold air kit, M1 single plane(20 hours of casting clean up, and matching) 1.7RR's, Accel 300+ ignition system, including coil, MSD 8.5 super conductors, splitfire plugs, hypertech PP, MP 2500 stall converter, trans-go shift kit, caltrac bars, PPH headers(ceramic coated inside and out) , maganflow 3" cat, 3" dynomax ultra flow welded race mufler.

Message: Without looking back, one persom questioned getting better milage then stated on sticker when new. untill I made some changes mine did 16.9 Highway and 11 tops city ( read my other post). Changes are. Brass cap and roter, 8mm spirol wound silicon wires with valconized ends, champion truck plugs gaped at 55 thousands,30,000 volt veriable coil with normal round metal case for coolest operation. Amsoil front to back and mobil 1 EP in the engine. I been offering this advice several times. Far as I know only one person did as I do but as you can see. I follow my own advice to the letter and it does work absolutely great.
So many problems .... So little time
