 Subject: PCV on left Cover, What's on the Right?

Hello.
I have 99 5.2.
I replaced the PCV Valve on the passenger side valve cover. Now it rattles really loud, should I buy a better one?
The tube from the airhat to the Drivers Side valve cover...what is that and what does it do?

Aftermarket PCV valves leave a lot to be desired as a rule but not all the time. For this reason I always buy them from the dealer. It is one of the rare items I feel needs to be bought from them. After markets have a habit of changing little things a bit so it will fit more models . this has a tendency to mske them not function proper.
So many problems .... So little time

The tube on the other side is for crankcase ventilation. For those who use aftermarket air intakes it can be replaced with a valve cover breather (available from local parts stores).

does it ever need to be replaced? if so how do i remove it? i tried to remove same as the PCV but it wouldn't budge. 99 5.2

It's just a breather hose, there is no hardware inside that requires replacing unless the hose or grommet has cracked over time.

Ab0ut using a breather on the drivers side. I think that hose has to run to the air hat in order to pass emissions in alot of States. I know in California anyway that a breather filter right there would fail you.
