Subject: Electrical Problem??

My lights, stereo, and guages are completely dying while I'm driving, as well as all the chimes going off. (They seem to come back on in a few seconds) However, the vehicle continued to drive normally. Just tonight thought, its starting to sputter and stall while i'm driving when all the electrical shuts off and the check engine light is stayin on. Any ideas???

Do you have a tilt steering wheel? If so, the ignition switch wiring harness on the steering column (under the steering wheel) may be your problem. I had similar indications: engine cutting out, radio shutting off, interior lights, etc. Happened more when I extended the steering wheel all the way down. I found a broke wire right at the crimp-on terminal lug going to the ignition switch. Good Luck!
