Subject: Plug Wire TSB IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering if anyone has rerouted their plug wires per the TSB. My truck has a miss at part throttle (approx. 1800rpm) and I've cleaned the throttle body, new 3923's, wires and cap have about 40K on 'em. Although I have a can I have not done the Seafoam treatment yet. I was just curious if I should really go to the trouble of rerouting my wires. Does the end really justify the means?

Message: I have the V6.
I did reroute my wires, just to be on the safe side.
But I did not route as per the TSB.
I didn't like the way the TSB did it, so I just used common sense and kept the wires away from each other and other wires and metal.
I have after market wires, which are a little longer, so it was easier to route them away from things.
Run at night and look for arcing.

Message: I'm going to be putting a MSD6a Ignition, coil, and wires on my truck in the next couple of weeks. That'll give me a chance to route my wires the way I want. The TSB takes the typical approach by making everything more difficult than is necessary. I also stumbled across some info about indexing the distributor. Gonna check that too. Thanks for the input!
