i have the same exact truck and the same noise. no luck finding it and its been there a while now, so i just turn up the radio.

Hey, guys!
Just a thought: you may also hear this noise when driving over rough surfaces?
At any rate, try this: Lower the tailgate and lube the "striker" or "latch" pins on either side (the ones by each tail light). Use something thick like chassis or wheel bearing grease if it's all you have. I used CRC brake caliper grease (the stuff with graphite and moly in it) on mine... Those pickup beds are more flexible than you might think!
After suffering this noise for over four years and hearing other Dak owners complain of it too-- as well as blaming the leaf spring and shackle bushings-- I stumbled upon the real cause purely by accident! One whole year later and the squeaking is still gone! Yes, I never replaced the leaf spring bushings!
