Subject: '00 4.7 dakota electric fan problem IP: Logged
Message: OK, here is what I have got and here is what I have found, what is the next step?
-Error code 1491 - elec fan circuit
-Replaced relay and the new one checks out good
-Checked voltages at the relay plug and both are good
-Fan will run when appropiate circuit is jumped at relay plug
-checked temp sensor and it is fine
-checked both sets of fuses and they are fine
What have I overlooked other than the PCM? Which leads to I check for a short on the PCM harness?
Any suggestions??

Message: Any ideas? Anyone ever opened up the PCM and looked for cold solder points, etc?

Message: Check the underside of the power distribution block that the relay plugs into. The "socket" that my fan relay plugged into was fried. The famale spade connector on yours may have dropped out of the bottom and the relay can't get power to switch from the PCM.
