I have a 2000 Dakota with a 4.7 Liter V8, 5 speed manual trans. and I think I’m having trouble with my fuel injectors… but I’m not sure. I’m getting the ODB codes: P0205 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 5 and P0206 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 6, which makes me think the injectors are acting up.

When it sets over night and I start it up it’ll rev up to 2500 rpm for about 10 seconds before it idles back. I’m thinking the injectors aren’t closing all the way and allowing some gas to drain down until the pressure goes down. Also when the engine light comes on it’ll buck when I leave off the gas…

It runs great otherwise so I’m not sure if I want to replace the injectors yet… but the high rpm cold starts worry me. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on? I’d really appreciate some advice.

Yeah that's something I was considering... I'm planning to pull the throttle body this weekend and clean it paying special attention to the IAC. I might just go ahead and replace the TPS cause there only aroung $25-$50. The IAC are cloaser $100 so I'm hoping I don't mess it up and have to replace it as well...

ThanX for you input.... I'll update this next week to let you know how I make out.
