Message: ok so i changed my PCV valve last week ('02 5.9) as preventative maintanence, and the new one didnt work at all. so i bought another one...it seemed to work, until yesterday when i checked my oil and it was FRIKIN rich with gas...so i figured...hmmm...must be a vacuum leak, so i changed out the PCV grommet, vacuum hose, another new PCV valve, and changed my oil and i just got done drivin it 50 miles down the road and theres gas in the crankcase again...WTF man...i would blame this on me not installing it right, but its a frikin PCV valve, you take one out and put the new one in exactly how the other one came out...

Message: Could be just bad construction. What's the chances you bought all these at the same place . Also is it possible your buying cheap ones (not intentionally).
PCV valves are super important to engine life. Buy the best you can. Try putting the old one back on and see if problem goes away. That will give you the information you need to do what's right.

Message: i didnt think it would be my rings because it only has 60K miles on it and theres no oil in my exhaust, but i did a cylinder leak down test and the most leakage i had was 8%. general "rule of thumb" spec is around 30%, so it cant be the rings. i bought all three of them at different stores - napa, auto zone, and then advance. i also pulled both hoses out (intake manifold and air hat) and pulled vacuum on the vacuum hose and there was suction on the hose that runs to the air hat. at auto zone there were two different valves. one was $2.99 and there was a fram that was like $7.99 - i think ill pick that more expensive one up and see if it makes a difference, other than that im out of ideas...

Message: I'm not a buyer of Crysler parts because of there high markup but I have to agree on this PCV valve deal. Get one you know works right for your engine. Problem with aftermarket on some things is they change things to make them worke for more aplications. Pcv valves is one of these things they cheat on'

Message: The PCV valve is supposed to tick. The ticking is the little ball going back and forth in the little chamber. We have a brand new Toyota Corolla for gas and it's PCV valve ticks.
