Anyone had a fuel injector that seems to act up once in a while? Is there an easy way to diagnose this? What has happened lately is about once a month the truck will start up and run a bit rough, the engine light will come on. Ran the code, it is a 27, sounds like something to do with injector response. Has anyone had any success having the injectors professionaly cleaned? Truck has 150,000 kms, never touched.
Any ideas?

It is a 5.2 The code was on dash by turning the ignition switch to on,off,on,off,on and watch the check engine light go out and then start to flash, giving a 27, then a 55. The 27 is an injector issue, 55 is normal end of codes.

i also have a 93 dakota with the 5.2, i had a rough spot around 1800-2000rpms that would not go away with the normal quick fixes. ex. cleaner, new cap, plugs, wires, etc. i finally had it taken in to be scoped on the dyno, and found out that it was the number 8 cylinder. so i replaced that injector and it seems to have helped. the whole process cost around $130, which is a lot to me, but if you have some extra money you could probably replace all the injectors for around $250 and an afternoon. there is also a chance that it could be your computer or connections to the injector, that could be difficult and more costly. good luck.

I think I figured out which injector! As the truck sits in the sun, I sometimes start the truck, and it idles rough and the check engine comes on, this time I stopped and started pulling off injector wires one at a time and found no change when I came to number 5. Strange that this has happened 3 times now. Why would the truck being parked in the sunshine contribute to an injector failing. After re conecting the wires, it appears the injector started to work again as when I restarted the truck, smooth idle, no check engine light. Anyone else had this type of intermittent problem?
