Subject: OBD II question wont pass emissions IP: Logged
Message: I've got a 2002 3.9LV6 I put in a new battery a few days ago before I took the truck to get tested (Marta) for emissions. They wouldn't pass it because the computer didn't have enough info. I think it has a OBD II. Any suggestions on how long to wait or how many miles to drive before getting it rechecked?
Thanks,

Message: As a rule it takes about 200 miles for it to take on a full set. This is combo town/highway driving. If there is 2 drivers then it's making constant small changes . Everybody drives differant. The small changes won't effect passing the truck.
So many problems .... So little time

Is there anyway around waiting til I've driven the 200 miles ... just curious? This is for a second vehicle that is not driven daily.

Message: Don't know of a fast way to accomplish this. The computer needs to build a history so it can report whats happening. Miles and different speeds (highway/city) etc will generate the data it needs to have.
