Message: Thanks for the input. What is your tire diameter now? I went with the R/T 17x9 with 255/55/17 at 28" (stock was 29" on the 16x8's), so I also have a lower effective ratio. The only thing negative I've heard about the 70mm is the extra emissions test numbers (none in my state, anyway). I guess the extra mods benefit from the 70mm specs. Did you have your PCM flashed for speedometer correction? I had the dealer make the 1" diameter adjustment; its within about 2-3 percent correct now.

I had a 68mm Stock t-body that was fully ported to a true 68 and polished Babies butt smooth, Mirror Finish (old School). Then I got the 70mm F&B to replace it with, and sold the 68mm factory P&P to a freind in Texas for a C Note.

My tires are 295/50-16 BFG's at 27.4" tall for the rear, and 265/50-16 BFG's at 26.4" tall front. No I didn't have the computer calibrated for the tires because they could only go down to the 28" like you have. (and I have the KB Optimizer II on my computer, and prefer the dealer never ever touches it.) So I took it to a local shop and had them do the speedo check and it is 5.1% off, so at 105 mph as-per the Speedo, I'm actually doing 100 mph even. And 1 mph add per 20 miles an hour, i.e. 40 is 42 speedo, 80 is 84 speedo. So I adjust my fuel milage calculations based on this. If I didn't I would have a 5% better than I do. ;)
My effective ratio with these tires is 4.13's on actual 3.92 gears. I never have liked the R/T rims so I kept with the 16x8's. (don't flame me folks 'cause I don't like R/T rims) Keeps me from having to remove the center cap at the drag strip and looking all trashy while I zoom down the track. Even my M/T ET Streets 28x11.5-16's I run at the track are Mounted on 16x8's, So I look Factory Stock.
