Message: Maybe, these kinda looks like the beer barrle intake of the old magnums. I am just no willing to give up my truck for a month as the PCM gets tied up in customs. Wish I lived down south.:(
I can pick up a PCM for $400 and the flash would be apporoximitly $650 That is alot of money to be tied up. That is Cnd$.

Message: Well maybe I need to try the 72. Maybe the extra volume it produces will overvide the Velocity loss. I never had my truck at the track yet. I will this week. With my G-tech there was no difference between the ported 68 and the stock 65.
I will add though that I was running the IP Stage three cold air at the time. I have since taken it off and I noticed a nice improvement just running the strait Z-tube. Maybe the 68 would have been better without the cold air set up.
I just wanted everybody to know though that having your PCM flashed is a far better mod than upgrading your throttlebody.
But those cams are next for me!

Message: Yeah, that exchange rate and customs thing sucks!
I bought another stock PCM to use with my turbo when I'm towing my trailer. I can't believe how much slower it feels and how easy it is to hit the rev and speed limiters.... It's tough being "good"! I still want to send it in and have the limiters moved. Too bad you can't just "borrow" a PCM while yours is being reprogrammed.
I guess it all works out about the same in the end.... I spend about $650 in Cdn$ every month on health insurance!

Message: I have been waiting for one to come in on warranty that still works and I would put it on my truck and sent the other one to the states.

Message: Excuse me for waking up this awesome old thread, but some of you newbies may enjoy the info by scrolling back. I was looking for info on which throttle bodies matched up best with HO cams. The info is scarce on this subject, possibly because the HO cam mod is still not that common. Before I start a new thread, any input from fellow HO Cammers? Message: I have the HO cams along with the HO manifold. I bought the true 68mm fastman throttle body. It complements the HO upgrades very well. I talked to Dan aka the fastman and he says that the 68mm throttle body is the best for all around driving. He said that you only gain about 1 horse power from a larger throttle body and lose a little low end. The fastman is pretty cheap. It was the only one that would fit my truck because i have an 03 so i may be just a tad biased i my decision. lol

Message: Thanks, android287. I've been leaning toward the 68mm "true-bore" for mpg and driveability reasons. My Dak is a daily driver, 30K mi. annually, so I don't want to sacrifice mpg for hp. The PCM seems to be still learning the HO cam profile, but even so, the mpg has improved about 1/2 mile-per-gallon. I assume the extra torque is helping out. Looking back on this thread, the PCM flash was favored by some over the HO mod. Here it is in 2004 with still few 4.7 flash options.

Message: I have the H.O. Cams, the KenneBell Optimizer II, True Dual exhaust (more or less), and the 70mm F&B ThrottleBody. Everyone of these seemed to compliment the other. I did the Optimizer II first and was happy with the gains, then I did the H.O. Cams and woke it up well, then I did the 70mm F&B Throttlebody and the best word is 'D@MN'. And that was moving up from a 68mm Factory ThrottleBody Ported and Polished to the F&B. Then I had the Custom Exhaust done and I dropped in to the Mid 14's at the track and still get 17 to 18 City MPG and 22 to 24 highway, and that is on 10.5" wide tires. I also have the 5 speed with 3.92's. The final drive ratio with the tires is 4.13's.

Message: And I didn't loose any low end torque. I take off in 2nd gear for normal daily driving like it was first. And my wife sometimes takes off in 3rd 'cause she doesn't do sticks very well. I pull the hills here in Colorado in 5th gear and gain speed under 1,500 rpms without any problem. So more torque, no Loss.

Message: OLD FOOL. To get this right. You said you had a PORTED 68MM and then went to the 70MM? Or did you mean you went from a STOCK 68MM and went to a PORTED 70MM?
Just wondering. I ported my stock 68MM out. It's open all the way through now.
