less than 1,000 miles ago had in for 30k service, now twice in the last week after short trips to the store when i start it back up it engine makes a put, put sound even after acceleration. sounds like i have a cummins in there. after i got it up to 55 mph it went away. it seems fine during normal driving. took it to dealer and they couldn't find anything. any ideas what it might be and if i should be concerned. 2003 QC 4x4 4.7 auto, drop in k&n, everything else stock.

Get your service sheet out and read it very carefully to find out exactly what they did during the service visit.
Check your PCM for any new stickers that indicate a PCM update (flash) might have happened without you being informed.

Sounds like bad gas, as in lower than it should be octane.

Why would you take it to the dealer for service anyway? Bad move.

Often, they don't even realize it takes 6 quarts of oil, no 5!

It's still under warranty so thats why I took it to the dealer. They said all they could find was some muffler noise, but naturally nothing else but I made sure they documented it. Nothing new on the pcm either. Thanks for the tip though. Guess will have to wait it out and see.
