Message: hey guys i need a new fuel pump but im stuck at the point of getting a new one and know that it will work but thats 200 bucks or i could go with a used one from the junk yard for 60 bucks with a 90 day money back guarntee if it does not work so my question would be do you think its worth the risk and all the work to put in a used pump and save 140 bucks or just put in the new pump and be done with it.....im really hurntin with the money 94 4x4 v8 5.2

Message: If cash is short, and time isn't, I would go with the used one. It's a lot of work, but that's essentially free. A factory pump should last a long time. Most do, anyway.

Message: I agree with .boB. There is a chance that pump won't last long, but then again, I've known some people that have over 200k miles on their original fuel pump. So, you might as well go with the $60 pump. If it goes out in under 90 days, you can always get your money back. Chances are though, it should be fine. Make sure you get a new screen for it and it probably wouldn't hurt to change your fuel filter while you're at it.
