Message: I am thinking about purchasing a 97 V8 Dakota, however it is a California truck so it has the California emissions package. Should I look for a federal emission truck instead? I live in WA state so I don't need the California emission. Does anyone now what the difference is between a federal emissions engine and California emission engine?

Message: Rich,
I've got a '97 CA Emissions truck. HP wise, it's maybe 5HP at most. No difference in performance on the '97 (and much easier to play around with smaller/larger rims and tires as we still use the Speedo Gear in the transmission.) :)
