Message: Does anyone know if the Ford Motorsports injectors in 24lb. will work in our trucks? I have been considering these, but I need to know if they will work. Are these better than the 19lb. injectors? I have read where the 24lb. injectors work best with air meters with revised calibrations that have been specially trimmed for high flow rates. It states that they require fuel and air delivery systems upgrades, and changing computer sensors. Does this apply to our trucks? Any help would be appreciated.

Message: TML,
I just put in a set of 24# injectors from a genIII cobra. My 2000 CC is supercharged and needed the extra fuel. To my suprise I found I gained 4 MPG and all the flat spots are gone. Although I have the MIL light on now because the PCM is having to adjust way lean to compensate for the bigger injectors.
My suggestions to you would be to get the 19#er for yours. The stock injectors have a large tolerance (something like + or - 10%) and the ones from FMS are like + or - .5% and they will outflow the stock ones. If you swap to FMS 19# then no further action should be needed. If you go 24# then you may need to reprogram you PCM.
I hope this helps

Message: Thanks Eyetrip! Do you know the difference between the FMS standard injectors, and the FMS Racing injectors? I read where you need to have the above mentioned upgrades, even with 19# racing injectors. What do you think? Thanks for your help.

Hello, my name is Ryan, i live in Staten Island NY. I own a 98 Dakota
R/T. I saw your setup list on the website, im not a memeber but im
looking around for help. My engine is close to stock right now, trottle body
spacer, AEM brute force intake, 180 degree thermostat, thats about it.
On the 1st of december i am ordering powerdyne's kit. I am intelligent
mechanically and i know alot about what im doing and how everything
works, but if its not a problem i need help from you... Its only a 6psi
kit, but i am worried about ignition, fuel delivery, and the computer.
Ive heard ignition upgrade isnt necessary, but im planning on colder
plugs and a coil just to be safe. Now the 24lph injectors by ford... whats
the deal with these? i found a website that sells them, but what do i
do about my computer? how and where can it be tuned to increase fuel
delivery, and same deal with the map sensor, i mostly need help with what
to do about putting in bigger injectors. One last thing was the
head gasket, will my stock one be alright? or should i upgrade that
sometime in the early stage of it being supercharged? if you can get back
to me with any help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
- Ryan
