Subject: ticking IP: Logged
Message: I have been noticing a ticking coming from the passenger side of the engine and it sounds like an exhaust leak and i have headers so i figured the bolts just got a bit loose and they were so i tightened them down a bit and the ticking persisted but it does so off and on. One of my friends said he had an injector on his truck that was ticking before it went out. It doesn't sound like it's a valve becuse it isn't a real loud ticking. I was wondering if anyone has had injectors on their dakotas that ticked before they went bad.

Message: after you tightened the exhaust bolts the noise comes and goes?
thats what I got. If the noise goes away or is not as loud with the
engine warm, everything expaned and sealed up.
you can get a stethascope with a hallow tube and check for a leak
that way.
