hey just wondering if anyone knows about the 2003 dakota r/ts. will dodge still make them even though there arent on there webpage in the r/t family section?also has anyone heard when dodge will change the 5.9 to a 5.7 hemi?thanks

I don't think there is a "for sure" answer on the 5.7L, but as far as the R/T it's a option package. I too do not understand why they don't advertize it along with all the other R/T's ??????

Usually the ordering cutoff is sometime in late May or early June for a 2002. They will then continue to build the orders that are placed for another couple of months, so a new 2002 can show up just a few weeks ahead of when it's possible to see a 2003 on the lot. They don't stop the assembly line long for a model changeover when there are not many changes. Just because you didn't get a order in by the cutoff doesn't mean that a dealer didn't order a R/T to stock his lot, so they will be available as a 2002 probably until the year end inventory clearances in September, maybe longer.

just wondering will the 2003 dakota be the same or it changing?i hope it stays the same cuz i heard its suposed to look more like the new durango concept which dosnt look very good.

hey i went on the website and they said it will be done in 2004-2005.so does that mean the dakota will still have the r/t with the 5.9 or will it be getting the 5.7 hemi cuz the ram gets it for 2003 so let me know cuz if i can wait a little longer to get a hemi i will.thanks

the new generation dakota is scheduled to be out in 2004 or 2005. they do plan to put the hemi 5.7 in them. also read that the the new body style will be based on the maxxcab design (very ugly).
