i have a question for anyone who might can answer it. i have a 1997 dodge dakota 4x4 with the magnum v8 and it always sounds like its in four wheel drive by the way it sounds but i had it checked and it is not.what is causing the noise is it the gear ratio someone said it could be please let me know thank you darrel house

Hi Darrel. I have a 97 4x4 also. I had the same noise about 3 years ago, and it turned out to be the pinion bearing in the rear axle. I had to have the whole damn thing rebuilt because I waited too long to have it looked at. Take your truck to a good trans/axle shop, and they should be able to tell you what's going on.

M1, CAI, Flowmaster 40 true duals, no cats
KRC 210x cam, headers, Mopar PCM, R/T heads, MSaine 2800 stall converter
