Message: i have about $1000 i want to put in my truck. i figure one way i could do it is add 206 cams. $750 for cams and $340 for install.
but lately i've considered doing h.o. cams and 4.10 gears. i figure this will be $1000 for parts and labor and would be wicked off the line. anyone know what the best way to go would be? i want to consider off the line performance, passing gear performance, and gas mileage. your experience and theories would be greatly appreciated.

Message: regardless of what you decide, you should do the work yourself. if you dont know how, have someone that does with you. after the job, you will know more about your rig and what not. plus, if you can do cams and gears, you can do alot and in the long run, it will save you alot of loot.

Message: I would say go 206's and 4.10's if you can. The gears will get the best results. The H.O. cams and gears would be good, but then the H.O. cams would be in there for nothing when you want to go bigger down the road.

Message: I agree with Andrew. I have the H.O. Cams and the 4.10 gears. I wish i would have just got the 206's and waited for the gears. I think they would really complement each other. I may end up having to sell the H.O. cams later and upgrading if I end up keeping this truck. (Camaro Concept is looking too friggin sweet to pass up)
