I have a 2002 Dakota 4.7L. I purchased the Superchips 3715 tuner back in December. Been great and I love it. Except last week my check engine light came on. Checked on scan tool and comes up P0601 which is DTC for "PCM Internal Controller Failure". I'm thinking not good. Tryed clearing code. Comes right back on. I go to a Automotive college, so I have access to some fairly high tech equipment. Hooked up to a Snap-on diagnostic scan tool. Ran some tests, all sensors are fine from what I can tell. Did forget to return computer to stock programming first though. So now I have to send to Superchips tuner back to get unlocked. But has anyone else had this happen??? Truck still running fine, yet computer thinks its fried. Could it have anything to do with the SC tuner? Please help somebody, I dont really have $700+ to buy new computer. Thanks!

Can't you unlock the superchip by using it to return to stock PCM programming ? I was able to run my truck fine with an $80 bonyard PCM I found at car-part.com, but some combinations are incompatable if one of the trucks has a factory alarm. Didn't even have to reprogram VID #, no mil light.
