Hi, Last week I paid the dealer $100 to look at my brakes cause they dont stop on wet pavement!
They said there is nothing wrong! LOL my work truck, I drive a flatbed Ford F-650 tow truck for a living stops 5x better then my little dakota on wet surfaces!
What gives here?
are all dakotas this way?

Quite possibly it is just the quality of pad and/or rotor. I had some cheapo $20 pad specials on the front of my Dak when I got it, and they wouldn't stop worth a dang. Replaced pads and rotors with Raybestos equipment and now it will put you through the windshield.
Most places don't charge for a brake check/inspection. Sounds like the dealer took you for a ride. Next time take it to a Midas or Just-Brakes.

Could be just worn brake pads... my R/T did the same thing till i changed them.... what F650 do you drive ? I know the brake system on the 33,000-pound GVWR model has air brakes... i thought the lower models did too ...

my Dak R/T doesn't stop worth a crap either. Had them done at Meineke. George Foreman put them on personally. LOL My Durango R/T stops way better and it is heavier. I suppose it could be cheap linings. They say those brake specials aren't worth it. you get what you pay for I guess.

I agree, Jerry. The "Specials" aren't worth it. I think whoever had this truck before me got one of those $39.99 Lifetime deals. They were horrid. I just tried to eliminate all possibilities by replacing both the pads and the rotors. Haven't had any warpage since either.
