hey guys i have a 94 4x4 and just put half a tank of gas in went to work parked my truck for 5 minuts went back and it wont start it turns over but it wont run i called my friend and he said it mite be the fuel pump, a few kicks to the gas tank and it started rite up is that just coincidence or does it sound liek a fuel pump related problum.... this morning befor school i went out early to see if it would start...it did first try.... went back out when it was time to leave and it wont start... kicked the gas tank nothing!! could i get some imput on this!!!!

First thing I'd look at is the relays. There should be a box under the hood somewhere that has all of the relays in it.

Swap out the horn relay or one that isn't necessary for the truck to run for the fuel pump relay and see how that does. Keep your fingers crossed that's all it is.

I had a 1993 Dakota that wouldn't start sometimes. I think it was vaporlocking though. I took it to a dealer and they couldn't tell me anything other than "Dodge trucks don't vaporlock". I ended up trading it in for a Nissan Frontier.

basically swap the horn relay with the fuel pump relay and see what happens. if the fuel pump works then go get yourself another relay.

A few of my friends had problems like this.First the truck would run fine,then not at all. It was the fuel pump. What happened was the pump would heat up and shutdown. Then come back to it latter and it ran fine again. It's a pain in the butt to swap out so make sure that's the trouble before you start turnin a wrench.
