Message: You might want to try a Flowmaster Super 40. Gives a nice "muscle car" rumble without being obnoxious. True duals *might* be a little too loud with the Super 40s though (not as loud as Glasspacks though!); therefor, you may want to consider Delta Flow 40s if you want it to be a bit quieter.

Message: Glasspacks are cheaper, and at least twice as loud as Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flow.
I know :)
Ran the Glasspacks on my true dual 2 1/2" exhaust, and went back to Flows.

Message: If you want a sound similar to a glasspack, try a Dynomax or Magnaflow type muffler. They are built pretty much like a glasspack, with a straight through perforated pipe wrapped in packing. The oval mufflers will not be quite as loud as the round ones though, if you care about noise levels.
Hooker now has a muffler built like that also.
I have a Magnaflow on my truck and it sounds great IMO. It's not the typical Flowmaster sound you hear everyday (though Flows still sound great too!) I just wanted to be different and since I hadn't heard of anyone with a Magnaflow on their 5.2 Dak I wanted to be the first to try it.
My 318 now has that classic MOPAR sound which I love!

Message: Graphite,
How long were the glasspacks you had on your Dak?
I had a 4' glasspack on my old 66 Plymouth (back in the early 80's) and it was pretty darn quiet. I'm actually thinking of putting one of those long glass packs on my Durango, better flow with a bit more noise than stock. Hopefully it's not too loud or the ol'lady is going to be complaining ;-)
BTW, I had a Dynomax UltraFlow SS muffler on my 03 QC and the F'n exit tube loosened and spun. I wondered why the tail pipe was drooping 4", then grabbed it and spun it back up into position. Had to tack weld the muffler's exit tube to the muffler case. I really liked the sound of the UltraFlow, but won't buy another because of the crappy quality.
