Subject: T-stat, elec. fan, MPG?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have read that changing to 180* Tstat will:
Increase HP
Decrease Engine temp (obviously)
Decrease MPG (less efficient burn)

I have read that switching to electric fan will:
Increase HP (actually free up HP)
Doesn't change Engine Temp (theoretically)
Increase MPG (less drag on motor)

I know that doing both of these is beneficial to a longer lasting motor.

The question is, reguarding MPG, do they even out? I don't want to be worse off in gas mileage after doing this. Any suggestions? Also I have 204,000 miles on the clock. Are either of these mods detrimental to a high mileage motor?
