This is the first I've heard about the lash caps. I don't know what they are but I've never heard of any problems either. Jason what do you mean by "wear your springs out prematurly". Does this happen often? How many years is "prematurly"? Are there any other risks/downfalls with the 206cams? .Any body else have this problem?
Do I still need the "custom flash" eventhough I have superchips>

Lash caps basically just sit on the valve stems. I am really not sure on valve springs I would think the only thing to worry about would be valve float but I have not heard anyone having this problem

thx oscar> Ive heard nothing but good things about the KRC 206 cams on this site, I'm just trying to get things figured before I buy them. I'm canadian, paying labour, and total novice. I'm concidering ordering them tomorrow if I can get hold of the guy who said he'd do the install. Sorry I haven't heard much about the 212's and the search engine dosen't work any more unless your a member?

Ya man I'm pumped! Marty said It would take him a week or so to get them ready and grind them then he'd be sending them out, I'm hoping to get them some time next week. I don't think they should take any more than a week for shipping?? I don't know? I usually don't buy anything from the states unless I'm over there?? Ya I split from my fiance a couple months ago, now all my extra cash goes into booze and the truck. She would have saw the cams as a waste of money> but she'd be the first to smile when you light up the tires.

Wow! I haven't got them yet but, what I have got is a sticker on my door saying that UPS will try to deliver again mon and that I owe them $200.00 COD. Fcuk me> 750.00 american for the cams, 200.00 canadian for delivery that's like 1100.00 canadian (cause I'm in Ont Canada). I haven't even pd the labour to have them installed? It's a good thing I haven't got kids because they wouldn't be eating this month.lol

Ya baby!!They're being installed thurs day morning. I drop the truck off when I get home from work 0730am and If all goes well I'll be driving as soon as I wake up at 3 pm. I'm taking the superchips off for the install and then puting it back on after, I'll keep U posted with butt dyno results, and the grand total for any mechanically challenged canadians. lol

So far so good. I basically just picked the truck up and had to return to work for the night so I haven't had a chance to really try them out. Feels peppier and smoother. Tomorrow I'll take them for a good run and reinstall the superchips. My mechanic was slow to start so I ran out of time.?? My receit is at home but they cost me abt another 450.00 tax inc for the install for a grand total of about 1500.00 canadian (lol) So far I've kind of baby'd the truck, Can i just give err tomorrow or do the cams need a break in period?? I forgot to ask the mechanic? I'll let you know the butt dyno results eitherway tomorrow eve>

(i'm drinking so if I sulurr I'm sorry)The cams are sweet esp with the superchips they hit the truck in the middle where it needs it. I didn't find my truck really spun the tires much, all depends on the rd and weather I guess. I gave a good sqawk spun for a second my neck snapped back and then "I launched", up to abt 80-90mph, had to slow due to traffic.I watched for mph for all you non canadians. Put the peddle to the floor at a various number of speeds. I found there was "awsome" pwr on demand any where under about 40mph above that it was just good unless I was already excelerating. For daily driving it feels smoother and has more lurch when you just let off the break. Oh It also sounds better not by alot but the sound is there..I know I here it!

The cams are feeling pretty good, even better than initially. Maybe the computer was adjusting to them (if that makes sense?). I've also taken off my fiberglass toneau cover, my only issue now is traction even with the LSD. My dad wants to race me in his 05 GMC 4.8 ext cab.I know I should kill him but he figures I'll still be spinning when he crosses the finish line. Any traction tips? Should I ease up initially, race him in 4x4? Lessen the air in my rears? thx for any advice?

Ok I take back what I said earlier about the power distribution. I took the truck out of overdrive and blam I got awesome power through out the whole powerband at the touch of a button>
As for the sound, I don't know how to discribe the "lobe"> It's there but not real aggresive>
I need something to race. (lol)

I beat a 4.8 RC 2WD Chevy with my open diff 3.55's and letting the air down to 15 or 20 PSI.
That really helps the launch. I beat him by .1 so that isn't much. You should get him by a bit more.
With the 4.56 LSD I spin but it still hooks up ebfore I know it.

Thx Graphite. My dad Is close to 60, he talks about racing me on and off but I never know if it's really going to happen. I take him out in my truck with each new mod I get and he talks about one day racing. The other day a kid in some sort of suped up beater pulled up beside him and started reving and lurching. He says the light turned and the kid jumped, dad felt the kid looked pretty slow so he decided to give err. He says he killed the kid. He won his "first" stop light race against a beater >So now he's back on the "I want to race you" kick. (haha) When will this race happen???? I just want to stack the deck in my favour if it does. (lol)
