Subject: blowing fuse........ IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, how you all doing.. I have a problem that is puzzling to me. About once or twice a year i blow
a 40 amp fuse that is located in the engine bay on the driver side. It controls the radio, turn signals. I will replace it and it will be good for a while and then it happens again. I have tried to remember what I do when this happens but all I do is shut off motor after normal driving, and when I go back to start it, motor starts up normally, just no radio or turn signals. puzzling? Any Ideas!

Message: No, it's all stock. If it is a short, That would be almost impossible to locate.

Message: I had a similar problem but with a different fuse. it was blowing the A/C blower motor and the window motor. It turns out that when I went to start and I let of the key the starter was senting a huge pulse through the wiring and blowing a fuse so we bought a capacitor at the auto store and hooked it up to the starter problem fixed

them.

Message: If it happens when you start up the engine it sounds like the starter circuit might be shorting with the circuit for the signals and radio. Check the wire harness and the starter wire for any worn insulation around the wires.

Message: Yes, all the flashers do not work, no even the 4-way hazards. As far as starting it up, that will be something I will look at. I will also check the wiring harness for any worn insulation.
Thanks for all the replys.
