It's easier to swap a 5.2 because of the engine mounts and if you're going through the trouble of a swap, you'd like the aftermarket for the 5.2. If you'd swap in a 5.2 you could also swap in a 5.9 because it also has the same mounts. But then you'd have to mess with the internal (5.2) vs. the external (5.9) balancing. good luck either way though

If anything go with a 5.9 R/T engine...It's the best dakota engine made by Dodge and it has soo mush more stuff you can do to it..I had an R/T an the thing was a total beast! It had that mean growl, even thought that was because of the duals i was running but still...If your gonna go with a swap go big or go home

not rating one better than the other, but everything you can do to a 5.9, you can do to a 5.2.

And the balance issue for the 5.9 really isn't an issue, just something to be aware of when getting a torque converter.

Don't buy that crap.
Go find a used block, and build your own. You can buy all the parts used if you look hard enough. And don't buy the obviously used stuff. Why buy a stock 5.2 or 5.9 when you could spend a little more, not much and get 300+HP
For one thing you are not going to get the kind of help you want here... Go to DTO and search the swap.
