Subject: R/T Owners, Best Tires IP: Logged
Message: I looking into buying myself a new set of tires for my R/T. Presently I have Komho Tires 255/55R17's and prefer to stay with that size tire. I'm looking at several sites where I have been considering, but I want some opinions on Brand, Price's and where to buy. Primarily I'm looking for the lowest price with shipping. Thank you in advance.

Message: The Kumho's are typically the cheapest tire in the 255/55-17 size by a significant margin, most of the other brands are $50 or more per tire.
I've read online that Discount Tire Company's website sometimes has them on sale as low as $86/tire.

Message: I run the Khumo's previously mentioned. I get them from Tire Rack...I think $86-87 a tire. The perform very very well, for the money. I think they grab an "8" rating on tire rack, which is darn good. Anything else is too expensive for my taste.
p.s. They are awesome in the rain!

Message: I saw the Kumho tires at Discount Tires at $85.00, but the shipping for 4 tires is $41-$45. Vulcon tire had it at $90 ea, with free shipping.

Message: im running the hankook ventus st rho6. and there not bad at all, as for price goes im not sure how competitive they are, but my r/t had goodyear eagle and i couldnt get any grip on the road from turning, rain, i could light those tires up for a long time. went to the hankook and out performs goodyear by 100% in all categories. Thought you would like to hear something diffrent than the kuhmo's

Message: Yeah I have the khumos too but I got them at a local tire wholesaler for $74 each because I work in a shop. But if you check out a few places near you maybe even a place like National Tire and Battery (NTB) they even have fair prices on tires and then you won't have to pay shipping. They khumos are half the price of the goodyear rsa's, have a slightly better treadwear rating, and perform a lot better. They won't last as long as some of the tires out there but for the price and performance, you cant beat them!

Message: I've had the Nitto NT-450 Extreme Performance
Ultra high performance all-season tire in 275/50R-17XL 110V B size for 3 years now. They stick like glue and work good in the rain. I don't think I'll get much more than 20k miles out of them, but I'm OK with that. Bought them at Discount Tire for around $125 with shipping.

Message: I put 265/65/17 Kuhmos all the way around and they suck! I wanted a tire that would fill the wheel well better. The 255/55/17's look out of proportion with the large wheel well openings. I also was hoping to get better traction with the 265 Kuhmos being almost an inch wider than the 255 Goodyears....NOT!!! These things will not hook up at all. I can turn the tires over at any speed in first gear. My red-light to red-light street racing is finished until I get these pieces of junk replaced.

Message: Not that Khumos are all that great, but wouldn't they only be a cm difference and not an inch? Oh and what R/T owner can't light em up at any speed in first gear? The only thing that might slow your spinning with that tire size change is the fact the you got a taller tire.
