Subject: Oxy Sensor IP: Logged
Message: Check engine light went on and said bad O2 sensor passenger side b4 the cat. I'm going to replace it tomorrow but was just wondering if I should look into something else that caused the O2 sensor to go bad. How bad will a bad O2 sensor hurt gas mileage? Thanks for your help.

Message: O2 sensor 1/1 (left) or 2/1 (right) are just before the cats, and they directly affect the air/fuel mixture.
I saw a coupla posts about steering fluid or something similar getting into the wires for the O2 sensor and causing a MIL. Here's why that happens on OEM sensors: http://www.dodgetrucks.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=69997
