Message: Its in your manual...but you have to have one working fob first.
I don't have my manual handy, but I could get it for you later or I'm sure someone else has theirs

Message: it is a 97 model with a 318 I know it has the alarm but I
just bought two fobs since the dealer didn't have any for
the vehicle when i bought it (the truck) so i don't have
any working fobs wil that make a big difference?

Message: Yes, it does make a difference. Without a working fob, the dealer must use the DRB tool to program the fob to the RKE device. Once you have a working fob you can easily (and for free) program up to three more fobs.
Bummer for you. Since the dealer sold you the truck without any (working or not) fobs you should press them to program the fobs (you bought) at no cost to you. That's the least they can do. Not knowing all the details of the sale, it seems wrong that they should get away charging you to do something they should have provided as part of the sale.
