Subject: Exhaust for 99 R/T IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 rc R/T and it has some dual exhaust that was on it when I bought it. I would like to upgrade the exhaust with some headers and true duals. Could anyone tell me if it is better to have true duals or not? I have heard some say not to go with true duals and some so go for it. Not sure why. I would also like to know if the mopar performance PCM requires the use of 93 octane fuel. I also want to get a new cam for my 5.9 but not sure what is best. I know I want to eventually make it a 408, any suggestions would help. Thanks

Message: when you have dual exhaust you loose back pressure which means less tq mor hp and better pull at higher rpm instead of low end grunt. that exhaust would be good on a 408. i believe the mopar pcm has to run on 91 or higher octane? i think instead of a cam do the 1.7 roller rockers or the 1.6 and some roller lifters. the 1.7 and the roller lifters will raise compression and reduce the friction in the valve train. or just save your money for that b!tchin 408!!:-)
[ and some mods to blow it up]

Message: Why put on some roller rockers if I have a cam with bigger lift? I don't really want to raise compression because I would like to supercharge the 408.
