Does anyone have a recommended procedure for changing the door lock motors in Dakota trucks. I have already paid the dealer to fix two of them and I refuse to go through that hell again. I know these Dodge doorlocks are defective but they would never admit it.

What year vehicle? They're not bad if you are somewhat mechanically inclined and you have the patience. You'll probably need a torx bit to get the door panel off. Then it's a good idea to make a quick drawing of the layout such as what goes where (latch and lock rods etc.) I had to remove some of the window hardware to get clearance. Oh, and just in case you didn't know it, the lock solenoid is built into the door latch assembly. I saved lots o' money doing it myself.
