Message: Hi, have just converted 5.2 v8 to sequential lpg, it works very well! however engine check light comes on when ever the fuel is switched to lpg, has anyone come across a fix? apart from taking out the bulb!! I can switch light off with a relay when running on gas (often have to do this with many makes)But on the dogde ram it remains on when its switched back to petrol, Any help would be very welcome,

Message: It may have something to do with the vacuum the gasoline tank registers. I know that if you don't get the gas cap on square the check engine light will come on. Just a thought.

Message: Liquid Propane Gas (LPG)
At atmospheric pressure LPG is a gas but under modest pressure it becomes liquid. It is very economical to use but the conversion is pricey. I think the giggest side effect of LPG is a lower horse power output, that and location of fuel stations.

Message: LPG has a lower BTU value than gasoline so you will use a higher volume of LPG to do the same work as gasoline. This used to be a good conversion to lower operating costs - not sure what the current costs of gas vs LPG is now.

Message: Could be the O2 sensor is not compatible with lpg.
You'd have to pull the code(s) to find out for sure.

Message: Thanks for the suggestions guys, LPG costs about half the price of petrol (in Britain), there is no noticable loss of power with the lastest kits and you use about the same amount of fuel, so its near enough half price.I convert vehicles all the time, with no probs, but the dodge ecu is a bit to clever and knows ive been playing! The reading from the o2 sensor has been matched up using my lap top. What I need to find is a list of what the fault codes mean and the pin data showing what signals the ecu gets on what wires, does any body know where I can get this info? Its a bit hard to find in England, all my data books only cover European cars.

Message: put the ignition in the on position.
turn a/c switch on and off
move the gear selector from park all the way to 1st gear then back to park
turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, and on
The trouble code will display in the odometer(digital)
Or just take it to Autozone and they'll check it for free.
which trouble code are you getting?

Message: I'm not sure that you can for a '98 or '99 - procedure described is for '00 up I think; but some of the older trucks had a way to set a flashing light code.

Message: On my '99 Dakota R/T the on/off/on etc doesn't work. What does work is this: With the switch off, Press and hold the Trip Reset button, turn the ignition on and continue to hold the Trip reset button till you see the word "CHEC" is displayed (about 6 seconds) and the code should be displayed.

Message: The Off-on; off-on; off-on didn't work on my '98. When I do the hold the trip button down it seems to run through a guage check, but never shows a code.
Says chec; the odometer display then shows a right to left snake trail; All the guage lights come on; then some go out; then all the dials go 1/3 then 1/2 then full scale, bell rings a few times (no code in the bell) then its done.
A code reader tells me it's P302, misfire. It would just be nice to be able to read it without a trip to autozone.
Now it time to check the rotor cap and button, wires, plug and injector.
