I have had my 00 QC 4x4 4.7 manual Dakota for 4 years now. It has 86k on it and doing fine. Ever since i got the truck whenever it gets cold out side I will be driving then when i push the clutch in to come to a stop it will idle from 400-700 sometimes 300. Sometimes it stalls on me. It drives me crazy. Anyone know what it might be?

Thanks,

Brandon

Mine was doing the samething and then I changed the battery in it. After that, I had no more problems with that.

I took it to my dealer they said the same thing and replaced the battery free and it has done it ever since. Any other suggestions.

Thanks though!

Idle Air Control Valve.... try replacing it. If you have one sticking or not working well at all, you'll definately be able to tell when it starts getting colder outside. Just replaced mine on my `99 R/T @ 82k miles. Located on the throttle body.

On the 5.9L it was about $45 from Autozone. I'm sure the dealer would want twice that. Check your local automotive parts store.... should be an in-stock item.
