Message: dodge uses a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, aka MAP sensor.
the map sensor has a variable resistor used to monitor the difference in pressure between the intake manifold at outside atmosphere.
This information is used by the engine computer to monitor engine load (vacuum drops when the engine is under load or at wide open throttle). When the engine is under load, the computer may alter spark timing and the fuel mixture to improve performance and emissions.

Message: Negative.... No Mass Airflow.... your engine either uses a Mass Air Flow or MAP sensor. Not both. And no, you cannot switch from a MAP to a Mass since the computer is built around the MAP.

Message: My God...... are you kidding me?
Any naturally aspirated engine would respond to RAM Air.
Go ahead..... "What is naturally aspirated?"
Answer: Not using any means of forced induction, such a supercharger or turbo charger.

Message: Yep. It will also respond to a shop rag in the intake manifold.

Message: Ok. Just wondering, why do the people in the charger forums say that the new hemi's will not respond well to a cold air intake? They say only mass air motors respond.

Message: anymotor that can get cooler air will respond better. Non of this has to deal with wether it has MAP or MAF sensors. Cooler air is more dense than hotter air... that's where you're going to see the biggest help. Also, on EFI motors, the air temperature sensor will detect the cooler air and add more fuel/timing... on a carbureted motor, you can change your timing and/or rejet the carb when getting more dense air.
sounds like the guys on the charger forums need to quit giving advice.
