Bought used, after one winter the front end starts squeeking like a POS relic whenever the front end bounced. I greased everything sticking out of the bottom of that truck, no help. My mechanic takes the (torsion bar?) off and greases the bushings, for $ 40, and the squeek was gone for about 2 months. So it comes back, then I make the dealer replace the upper ball joints on the recall. No charge. No squeek either, for about 2 months.
Rocking the car left to right, no squeek. Push straight down on the hood, sounds like an old mattress. What to do? Help gratefully accepted.

Message: Most likely the sway bar end bushings, this is very common. On my truck, I don't believe the torsion bars have bushings - could be wrong, though. Any way, time to grease the sway bar bushings. They just slip on the end of the bar like a small poly doughnut.
With the truck sitting on flat ground, remove both of the bar end clamps from the bottom of the lower A-arms. Clean the bushings, bar, and mounting surfaces with whatever. Apply a little bit of Mobile 1 synthetic wheel bearing grease, and re-assemble.
That should fix the problem. Temporarily. In time, the grease will wash away and you'll have to do it again. You can use almost any grease. I suppose you could even use lard. But I've had the best luck and longevity with Mobile 1.
