Just called K & N and they said the FIPK for the 4.7L engine should be out in a week. Don't know if this is old news to everyone, but new to me! I'm excited.

Crap, I called them a Month ago and they said "Don't have it and don't know when we will" so I bought a Volant cool air system, it seems ok but I really wanted the sealed box not just a heat shield. O-well it's just money down the ______(in this case air tube)

He didn't say, just told me to check back in a week. I would think it would be an improvement considering they weren't satisfied with the numbers they were getting before. It will be interesting to see though.

I went to order the fipk for the 4.7 at a store called 4-wheel parts, he called his K&N distributor and he told him that it wasn't going to be out for another month or two. Are you sure its supposed to be out this week? They told me it was still in testing. Anyways...just kinda anxious let me know what you find out

I'll give them a call tomorrow morning, but I said "2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7L V8" and he said "check back in a week and it should be out. I'll post what I find out tomorrow.

I had also contacted K&N and they are working on the instruction sheet. However, they didn't know the exact release date. (They stated "in about 3 months" when we were at the SEMA show...last year.) I'm curious to see how it will work as the 4.7L has a nasty plenum resonance problem (2001+).

Called them back this morning and got a different rep. She said to check back later this year. I think they're gonna have me running in circles, so I'm going to call again and see what the next person says.

I received two responses from different K&N reps in the last two weeks. This weeks response said the release would be in 5 weeks. Last weeks response said mid-summer. Do you really think that they are giving us good info?
