Message: The code of P0442 is more than likely a faulty gas cap. Very common with Dakotas. Buy an aftermarket gas cap from someplace like car quest. Erase the codes by disconnecting the negative battery cable for about 10 minutes. Put the new cap on and see if the codes come back. If they are going to come back it will probably take a few days. The 0442 code more than likely will not come back but the others probably will. O2 sensors will more than likely have to be changed. What year Dak and how many miles on it?
DO NOT get the replacement gas cap from the dealer. THat's just defeating the purpose of changing it. I had the same thing happen with mine.

Message: The truck is a 2000 with a 4.7. Just about 100,000 miles on it. I just replaced both O2 sensors on the driver side. I will replace the gas cap today. Thank you for the suggestions.
