Occasionally my tranny drags when taking off from a stand-still and sometimes feels like it's locking up for a second when it should release when coming to a stop and it's downshifting. Tranny appears good in all other gears. Any ideas?

I don't know much about Auto's except to check the fluid according to the manual as the first step in any troubleshooting.

torque convertor is going....soon your motor will die when coming to a stop because the Torque Convertor Clutch is not disengaging....its kind of like stopping without pushing in the clutch pedal on a manual car/truck

Unfortunately for my wallet you're right on the money! Turns out I was starting out in 2nd (the reason for the low torque at the light) Shop diagnosed a bad torque converter but it doesn't end there. That metal had to go somewhere, so a rebuild is in work as I write this. I'm not terribly dissapointed since my 2000 R/T is pushing 86,000 miles. Now she'll be like new. :)

Hopefully it wasn't a bad Governor Pressure Transducer on the valve body!!! This is very common to the 46RE's. The transducer reads a higher than normal governor pressure sitting still which makes the JTECH controller think...wait a minute, I'm moving! The controller then matches the transducer by boosting line pressure to the trans, which in turn, usually makes you start out in second gear.

Or it could be the torque converter:)
